A Blaze of Hypocracy

I don't understand the Diaspora politicians, well, actually I do, but I don't like it. In the interests of full disclosure, I also don't understand the EPRDF either, especially on corruption, on tackling abject poverty and their general obtuseness as to why they were elected and by whom.
But over the last several months, the hypocracy of the new member of the Diaspora politicians (who at the 11th hour switched seats) is shocking. No doubt, some may disagree with this statement, but they can't and still be honest with themselves.
Just last week, a Human rights Conference was held at the University of Minnesota at which a talk was given on ‘Human Rights and Humans without Rights in Ethiopia’. I am in no way, shape, or form objecting the discourse on such an important topic. My remark rather focuses on some in the Diaspora whose hypocracy knows no bounds.
Hypocrisy, like many other traits, doesn’t discriminate. In fact, nobody I know is 100 percent perfect. By historical accounts, the only person I know of who lived a perfect life died on a cross.
The issue has been already addressed in the past, but with the recent conference mentioned above, the necessity is here to look at things again, and to humbly submit it would have been a lot better for the struggle for democracy were such personalities to just shut up.
We have been deafened from the functionaries of the Dergue regime who shamelessly keep preaching us on the virtue of democracy and human rights. What a sad state!
Even as we speak, we still have no shortage of such personalities. So, let me let you in on a little secret if you have been visiting another planet. Over the past few months, we have been bombarded by those who just jumped ship when they see the writings on the wall; not about the country’s future, no I don’t think so, but about their own future. This leads me to one of the organizers of the conference.
This organizer was hailed as one of the new breed of leaders for Ethiopia. It was said he served Ethiopian government at its UN Office for 5 years. This gentleman and others who were professing their undying devotion to the policies of the government (until they were recalled to the home office, it seems to me) were the same folks who now go around and spout some of the most vicious, toxic, and mean-spirited rhetoric. Had the government not made the mistake of recalling them they would have no doubt continued to serve.
For this same group of people to now cry about the human rights violations in Ethiopia should make them shudder in shame. What the hell have any of them done to either play a constructive role in improving the democratic struggle in Ethiopia or even to expose the lack thereof, exactly what gentlemen? Do the readers know any?
Yes oh beloved readers, this group of Diaspora politicians are absolutely guilty of hypocracy of the highest order, and we have to call them on it. And, that is good for them and us.
