Abraham’s successful North America Tour Concluded successfully.
(Aigaforum Feb 26, 2007)
The renowned Abraham Gebremedhin has just finished his tour in North America. From Seattle to Boston, Ohio to LasVegas Diaspora Ethiopians and Eritreans alike were entertained by his marvelous voice and soothing melodies. According to many tour participants all over the States, many were extremely happy to listen to his music and be part of the tour. Abraham’s refreshing voice coupled with his universal language of love and positive vibe that comes with all his songs was what most concertgoers appreciated.
Abraham and Eden would like to thank all Ethiopians and Eritreans for their support. Abraham regrets he could not perform a second concert in Washington DC because he and promoters could not resolve contract issues in time.
Although Abraham has transcended political boundaries to garner followers through his music becoming such a popular musician with thousands of admirers all over the North America, few have resented Abraham’s music complaining that it is not “nationalist music”. We think they are wrong and instead of judging his music politically they should judge it based on its artistic merit. Ethiopia and Eritrea has plenty of musicians and artist of all kind of political persuasions. In fact for some musicians here in Diaspora land, politics not music has become their primarily job. That is as if we do not have enough Diaspora politicians! We have now many musicians turned politicians canvassing the whole political spectrum.
Abraham plans to do another tour in the near future and he promises to his supporters to come back well-equipped and ready to rock.
Abraham and Eden thank every one for making this tour a success. Many thanks go to instrumentalist Kebede Demose, Mulu Hailu and Temesgen Isaac and promoters Tekle Tewlede, Azeb Hailmariam and Girmachew Kelelom.
