Her only son Haileyesus (Danbush) was a brilliant commander and a very kind Tegadaly in TPLF who wrote, with his blood, the last chapter. Danbush died during the epic battle for the control of Guna near Debertabor Amhara kilil.The derge regime crumbled soon after the devastating defeat at Guna. Gilgel Gibe II hydro-electric project begins generating power
Addis Ababa, October 30 (WIC) –The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) said Gilgel Gibe II hydro-electric project began generating power yesterday. Two power units with the capacity of generating 105 megawatts each began generating electricity. Mihiret said the two units generated a total of 210 megawatts.

Meles leaves for Abuja, Nigeria

Addis Ababa, October 29, 2009 (Addis Ababa) - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi left here on Wednesday night for Abuja, Nigeria to attend the AU special summit on Darfur , Sudan.The summit is expected to discuss an African Union report on ways to resolve the conflict in Darfur.Some 15 heads of African states will take part in the summit

We owe many thanks to our martyrs who made it possible for us to see an Ethiopia where political adversaries can sit down and discuss their difference. To those who are waiting on the sideline to derail election 2010, we say, “you are on the wrong path”. Zenderom’em ferenj ayadenachu… Ethiopia is for Ethiopians and no amount of foreign machination will help you. Instead, join the democratic process to bring our country and its peoples to yet another historic moment.
