Open Letter to the Government of PM Meles Zenawi
Many of you have written us many messages before asking us to convey the messages to the government of Ethiopia. We have tried to do that by posting your messages on Aigaforum. We hope the respected authorities have read your messages. Lately it has become impossible to post all your messages on Aigaforum. We have decided to create this blog where you can add your messages to the government yourself. Although we cannot be sure the government will get your messages, this is the best we can do to be at your service from now on. Please use this opportunity wisely. We reserve the right to remove messages we think are not constructive.
Thank you all.

See also: Seven killed in renewed fighting in Mogadishu. ...The Ethiopian forces are reported to have taken the control of many main intersections in the capital such as Shirkole, Ifka halane, Ali Kamiin, Hararyaale and Towfiq. Most of these junctions were the strongholds of groups opposing the presence of Ethiopian troops and they were no go zones for both the Ethiopians and Somali government forces.

Eritrea committing provocative acts along border of Tigray State, says Chief Administrator
Mekelle, April 01, 2007 (WIC) - The Eritrean government is committing repeated provocative acts along the border areas of Tirgray State so as to hamper the ongoing development activities, Chief Administrator Tsegay Berhe disclosed...
Comment:PM Meles said Ethiopia would not opt for war with Higdef Eritrea unless Higdef(Eritrea govt) invades Ethiopia or becomes an obstacle in the fight against development and poverty. I ask the PM if the recent hostage taking in the Afar Area has not become a clear obstacle against the tourism industry that is key to Ethiopia's development? How about destroying schools? Though there were numerous rumors that the Eritrean govt was doing all it can to disrupt and stop the development of border communities it is now confirmed by President Tsegay of Tigray that the rumors were true. How long we have to wait to say enough is enough to the dictator in Eritrea. The government of PM Meles is becoming less understood even to its staunch supporters when it comes to Eritrea. Our people deserve peace and the government should use all in its means to protect them. If the Federal government cannot do that then allow the state to mobilize its militia to safe guard its borders. It is that simple. Who is to develop on whose misery! Yiakel!!!![Zeru Hagos]

DJIBOUTI, Djibouti Mar 30 (Garowe Online) - The president of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Ghelle, has for the first time supported Ethiopia’s military intervention in neighboring Somalia. In a Friday interview with the BBC’s Somali service, President Ghelle justified the Ethiopian intervention by saying that Ethiopia had genuine security concerns stemming from virtual lawlessness in Somalia.

This is a major victory for Ethiopia. With Djiboutians now on board, all the neighboring countries of Somalia and members of IGAD (except Higdef run Eritrea) are behind the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia.

PM Meles says Ethiopia well poised to witness yet another year of marked economic growth
Addis Ababa, March 29, 2007 (ENA-Addis Ababa) - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has characterized the current budget year as one well-poised to see a repeat for a fourth-year in a row of economic leap-frogging with forecasts pointing to a 10.1 per cent growth.

Analyst says Somalia a Handicap for Ethiopia
VOA seems to never miss finding journalist or to be honest about it "want to be journalist" to cover third world countries. Most of its reporting about Ethiopia has been based on questionable sources. Many times before its news coverage about Ethiopia has been proved wrong and flawed. While the Ethiopia government said no Ethiopian soldier was wounded or killed in last week’s violence in Mogadishu, VOA is claiming otherwise! We understand the many analyst who were forced to recant or rewrite their educated analysis about the Islamic Courts and Ethiopia's capabilities have a wound to lick thus it should surprise no one if they rehash their prediction given last week's violence but what is wrong with VOA? Why not join the party and enjoy the successful operation against terrorism in the horn. There aren’t many other success stories like it. Iraq is Iraq and Afghan is Afghan!

[Q]Many of the members in the Development Assistance Group (DAG) in Ethiopia suspended direct budget support following the May 2005 electoral violence....

[A]That is a whole other set of political issues that I am not an expert in. I was not here in 2005 but I think we did have an observer group here during the election, including President Carter himself, and we felt that the opposition had lost the election. While there were a number of expressions of concern, and condemnation for the killings that occurred, we think some of our other donor partners had gone over board in encouraging the opposition and making them think that somehow they had won the election; we never believed that
