Kinijit is a spirit used to be the slogan of many gullible supporters of the now defunct Diaspora kinijit. The real kinijit has found peace in itself and has joined the legal opposition camp, fighting for what it believes in, the legal way and the peaceful way. Thus is functioning well in the country. How ever judging from the two news below, kinijit international, is neither a spirit nor a thing. It is not even present in cyber world where its followers are abundant to find. Its supporters like to live in cyber world for it is easy to hide in there better than the fox holes in Tesene(Eritrea). You have been warned said,Elias the numro uno guru of these forces, that kinijit international is no more kinijit International. Not to be outshined a certain person named Yazew is saying not in your dreams Elias! kinijit International is here to stay. Can some one ask Dr Berhanu to tell the Diaspora who is really representing them in Diaspora. Where does Elias fit and who is Yazew!

AFD camp. As to Elias, well we think Ledetu simply undressed him.

FROM OUR MAIL BAG
Discontent over Government’s containment
policy on Shabia
Dear Aiga editor:
I have read what you wrote on August 10,2006 referring to solutions
regarding the terrible situation Ethiopia is facing now with its
neighboring country Eritrea. Your responses have been said for
many years by individuals in the hierarchy of Ethiopian government.
But as a matter of fact the solution is a clear cut, to remove
Esayus from power and replace him with democratic leaders who
could create a favorable condition for peace and democracy to
east Africa. If such thing is not happened by any means, It is
impossible to run a country in a peaceful way and to bring a sustainable
development in the country. In a no peace and no war situation,
it is possible to bring a limited development but will not change
the situation of the country as desired. I could not understand
why they wait and see until the snake develops to cobra and tried
to swallow them, thus what is happening now to the situation in
Ethiopia. It is unpleasant to see the country divided by enemy
propaganda and second hand war like olf, onlf, kinijit you name
it. The worst is coming, esayus is trying to put Ethiopia into
war with Somalia, to destabilize and divide the country into ethnic
groups in order to benefit economically. Then what now, esayus
and his associates are so happy of their results, results of mass
defection of armies including a top general and colonel to enemy
Eritrea. Absolutely, shame and disgrace to Ethiopian government
and its people and it shows that there is means to trust the army
in the country. Whose fault? it rests on the shoulder of the ruling
party-EPRDF

Ethiopia
says killed 13 rebels crossing from Somalia

Commentary
(Aug 10,2006):-It is clear to many of you Ethiopia can not have peace
unless it deals with shaibya once and for all. This has been clear
to Aigaforum for a long time since many of you have emailed and called
us to show your displeasure to the way the Ethiopian government is
handling the issue.
Although we are not sure why the Ethiopian government is showing such
patience with Shaibya, we know for sure even a single day worth of
relative peace in Ethiopia is good for Ethiopia. Ethiopia can only
guarantee its peace for long if and only if it has put its growth
economic engine in place. With a growing economy we have a better
chance in defending our peace. Over the last three years Ethiopia
has registered more than 7% growth in GDP this despite Shaibya's continuous
provocation. We should use all means necessary to continue this growth.
We understand soon or later Shaibya must be dealt with but let us
agree to leave this for tomorrow. Today is a day for development.
Today is a day for building roads and expanding the electrification
of the country. Today is the day Ethiopia should be putting the building
blocks of the economic expansion.
Shaibiya is a nuisance and irritating, we might add, but we must resist
the temptation to join his game plan. We know we Ethiopians can defend
and win over our enemy any time. What we have failed before is to
win over poverty and poverty is the source of many of our problems.
Shaibya is a nuisance but we should not lose our sleep over. There
will be a time! |

General Kemal Gelchi from the Ethiopian defense forces betrays
his country and defects to Shaibya.
(from our email folder):- The
General along with Colonel Abebe from the central command betray his
country and defects for Eritrea after coming back from a two week
leave of absence. Sources say the General has had a family issue after
he has impregnated a young lady out of wedlock in Harrar. The General
was a decorated hero during the last war with shabiya. He served under
Major General Yohannes and was the right wing man in Badme front defending
the Areza front. He has also served in Liberia.
Sources say soon after his return from a leave of absence to solve
his family issue he tried to convince many of his subordinates(about
40 soldiers of ethnic Oromo) and was passing leaflets showing
forged paper alleging that some soldiers were wanted by the government.
It is reported many of the ethnic Oromo soldiers he has recruited
managed to foil his plan and confronted him on his way to Shaibya/Eritrea
land. While two people died in the cross fire and few other wounded
the General along with Col Abebe managed to escape. The General and
Col Abebe who was an officer stationed at the headquarter of the division
as head and member of a "gebi" board left for Shaibya on Aug 8,2006
along with 19 other soldiers. Col Abebe was due in line for an audit
and sources say he left to avoid the corruption investigation.General
Kemal and Col Abebe were close friends source say. |

A trip report of what I saw and heard and some conclusions
(Isayas A, July 31,2006):-Ethiopia
in six years time has changed a lot. Last time I visited Ethiopia was
six years ago, and to my astonishment a lot has changed since. The construction
business is booming cement is in short supply. The service industries
are seeing unprecedented growth. Hotels are booked and restaurants and
small café’s are crowded all the time.
