The latest witnesses to be heard were Ato Fikre, Dr Konjit from EHRCO,...mean time of the remaining 33 prisoners who are charge under the Hailu Sahwel case and other related case, 32 of them have admitted their guilt and have asked the court to sentence them. The court then passed different sentence to all but one person

Comment:- One can not expect good thing to come out of the EEBC, but we will wait if Wedi Afom (Isayas Afeworki) runs out of Jelewoch by Sept 6 and decides to sit down and talk on how to demarcate the border. The Ethiopian government has been waiting!
Dessie, July 29, 2007 (Dessie) - The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) inaugurated its 192 the branch in Kemissie town of Oromia Zone of Amhara State on Sunday...
Comment:- While applauding CBE and the Ethiopian government for liberalizing the banking system and expanding the government owned Commercial Bank coverage of service, we were surprised to find out Debark town in North Gondar does not have a bank of any kind to speak off. Debark is the nearest biggest town to many inhabitants in North Gondar (Simen). It is at the center of one of the biggest tourist attraction center Ethiopia has. The indigenous Walia Ibex and Mount Ras Dashen are found near by. Though we do not see any good reason why CBE has not opened a branch in Debark town, we know the private bank excuse is that we do not open branches where CBE does not have one. We think Debark and the people around deserve a Bank now!

this is lost on some. In a face of with Professor Ephrem ( Listen
to Abebe Belew Interview) Al Mariam only showed his bullyish
attitude and disrespect for his elders. HR 2003, which Al Mariam
has spear headed, demands Ethiopia to be certified by American President
and Approved by congress. The Al Mariams would have taken a lesson
that when the Congress people curve the Bill puts Ethiopian sovereignty,
its government, media and the court system under the will of American
Congress, they made sure such action will be not be applicable if
an action goes against the interest of the United States.Those who were going around begging Congress should have been a shamed and learned from the elders the meaning of pride in Ethiopia. Alas, usual method of bullying and coercion for all who are not willing to sell Ethiopia for 20,000,000. |
