  On Daniel Bekele and Netsanet Demissie case Ethiopian in its quest to become a democratic country has seen many challenges. Its constitution is being tested in many ways daily. One among the many challenges it has faced is the judicial independence. So far the court independence is proven beyond doubt. But there are lingering issues the court needs to address. Some cases are being dragged through the court system for too long. The case of the two Action Aid workers is one clear case that deserves due attention of the court. These two gentle men deserve a timely judgment. Neither the government nor the country can benefit from any more delay on this case. In fact despite their alleged transgression these people deserve leniency for respecting the law of the land. It does not make sense to many to deny these people their verdict when the Berhanu and Shawels charged with the same or more serious crime are roaming free simply because they said sorry with a lie! We all know what they [Berhanu and Hailu] are doing now: neither respecting the constitution nor abiding by their oath to the court.[Aigaforum 12/03/07
