Making prediction is a deadly business

Friday Humor

As in the 1996 Micheal Keaton movie Multiplicity, where the demands of home and work forced him to clone himself, the demands of OLF, Dergue, EPRP and EPRDF are met by CUD with great imperfection. Alas, while Micheal Keaton started with good image, CUD's origional was Dergue resulting in real life action drama that bests the 1996 movie.

Although we were delighted to see the World Bank granting the money to Ethiopia to help it win the fight against poverty, we were not going to rub it off on our vocal Diaspora by saying we told you so! knowing this came after the much hyped campaign against aid by these super losers. But something unique happened to us to change course. Some of our stringent critics keep reminding us thru emails about the grant money. Apparently these losers are trying to tie this money to the war against terrorist and UIC extremist. Losers! Ethiopia is delighted to get this money but trust you us, Ethiopia with or with out foreign help will win the war on poverty the same way it did against internal anti constitutional elements, foreign jihadist as well as Shaibya sent mercenaries in Somalia.

Misfortune of Eritrea’s Proxy Wars
(Kumsa Aba Gerba, Jan 14, 2007):- Eritrea’s inundation into the Somali conflict, by aiding and abetting the UIC including and up to sending combat troops, was a fact repeatedly reported by the UN Monitoring Group. Eritrea does not have a probable cause to militarily get involved in Somalia. It does not have a contiguous border, nor does it have any cultural... The Israel lobby debate
For the past several decades, and especially since the Six-Day War in 1967, the centrepiece of US Middle Eastern policy has been its relationship with Israel...

Diplomatic Offense:Goverment Delegations To Visit Various Africa Countries(ENA)
In a press statement sent to Ethiopian News Agency on Sunday, the Ministry said the delegation would deliver messages of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi to his African counterparts and discuss prevailing situation in Somalia The hunt for terrorist in Somalia has now become a hunt for peacekeepers? President Kibaki as IGAD chairman could have done better in controlling his side of the border with Somalia and standing tall against terrorist who not once but twice committed terrorist act in Kenya. BBC (Hunt for Somali peacekeeper force) has come out with a new campaign to play down Africa: "AID has diminish the military capability of many African countries" This after the defeat of the "extreme powerful" UIC(as BBC was fond to say) by the mighty Ethiopia defense forces, both African armies we might add!
Senator Brownback says US gov't appreciates Ethiopia for crushing terrorist group in Somalia

Can some one ring the phone at the Guardian! The sun has risen in Somalia and there is a new day. The UIC is defeated. Cut your loss and assign your experts and reporters to another hot spot. They have failed in Somalia miserabley. The Guardian getting at Blair and Bush, we can understand but what is their beef with Ethiopia!

The saying "ke wuhaw nuw"(it must be the water) cannot be truer any better. Oppositions in Ethiopia as well as in Eritrea have one big common feature:they tend to create an organization every full moon. Like Cud, Kil and UEDF from Ethiopia here comes another Eritrean opposition group! The only good thing we see in this new group is, it says..." Some of our URGENT priorities include: Creating a new vision and stability not only in Eritrea, but also to find concrete solutions that would eliminate tensions and conflicts to the Ethio-Eritrean conflict and to make the so-called 'border problem' irrelevant by putting the fundamental human interest of our people FIRST over a piece of land that has needlessly taken hundreds of thousands of innocent lives."More

'Winners' And 'Losers' In Somalia?
By Global Information Network
Peace has not yet returned to the troubled zone yet there are already winners and losers according to Said Sheik Samatar, an African history professor at Rutgers, in New Jersey, speaking this week at a Roundtable on Somalia. Among the winners are Ethiopia...Losers are Egypt, Eritrea and the routed Islamic Courts
Somalia: Warlords agreed to be disarmed as clashes kill six of their militias

Deadly battle in Somali capital

A rocket-propelled grenade was used in the battle, sparked by a dispute over where to park an armoured vehicle.

Update On Somalia: US Air Strike and Comments
(Aigaforum, Jan 11, 2007):- Aigaforum would like to thank the prime minister for keeping the public and the world at large informed. We can not thank enough the Ethiopian defense forces for restoring our pride...we will also like to see the prime minister office to hire a spokes person reporting directly to the prime minister...

What is Waltainfo Doing?

We thank Walta for fixing its technical problem and is ready to provide the much sought information. However it is unfortunate that Walta which has all the means, chose to link and paste stories from third parties instead of bringing its own news.

For instance western media at this time are trying to take the credit for the victory brought about by our gallant forces, as if they were not second guessing Ethiopia before. The Washington Post reporter wrote the attack by US as necessary as if she has not been saying all along Ethiopia is venturing to Somalia to divert attention from internal problem and is providing US with exaggerated intelligence. CBS is stating information that contradicts the PM.

Should Walta amplify that? Why it is undercutting it self? Walta can give us first hand source but we are forced to get third person news that is skewed to the third person's interest! You are an institution that should have life and personality distinct from others, not just a conduit for Christ sake!

Have your own news, your own analysts, have a Walta input on a story, be innovative, be creative, be a news outlet on your own right.

Timid Isayas Afeworki in Sharm-Asheik soothing his wounded ego with the help of Hosni Mubarak after the defeat of his terrorist allies in Somalia by Ethiopia(Jan 2007)

Once Ethiopian forces flush out terrorists from their hiding fox holes in the cities as well as remote villages of Somalia, the terrorists have become a hunting target for US expensive war machines! (ENA:News)Ethiopia is putting the finishing touch on its operation in Somalia!

Ethiopians are our natural neighbour but not our natural enemy
(garoweonline.com)-Many Somalis are telling us in writings and Radio interviews that Ethiopia is our historical enemy...That is not true and that reflects only psychological childhood trauma and undigested political mass manipulation

ANALYSIS-Ethiopia-Eritrea flare-up averted, tensions remain
"The Ethiopian action was a sort of dramatic strike using quite significant forces. There wasn't time (for Eritrea to react)," said Sally Healy, of the British-based think-tank Chatham House...

Comment:While the above analysis by a western expert paints Shaibya as incapable to match Ethiopia's military prowess, pm Meles distracters are mad with him for allowing Shaibya to "gain strength”. The truth is Shaibya is dying and it is time to give credit where it is due. The Ethiopian government has been all along right to treat Shaibya as a nuisance since the last war. No war no peace is the right policy for Eritrea today and it must continue! However Ethiopia's policy towards Egypt needs to be revised. Having lost every trick he has tried to weaken Ethiopia using his own means, Isayas Afeworki is trying to garner a helping hand from Egypt for his next adventure. Egypt needs to be told we will not continue to turn blind eye any more.
