The Ethiopia constitution, as is the case in any other democratic country, is the guarantor for our individual and collective rights. No one can be above the law. The recent clemency is nothing but an extension of this constitutional order. CUD leaders have used their constitutional right to ask for clemency and we are glad the Ethiopian government accepted the request. We think from here on CUD politics as it was is over. For all of us sake we hope lessons have been learned and CUD leaders play it safe from here on. No amount of bravado will force the government to lift the clemency but playing "hide and seek" with the likes of Shaibya and with known anti peace and anti constitutional elements anywhere will!
