Comment: Indeed it is the latest strategy of those who wishes the country ill. Funny though the tegbar and ER folks may be telling us otherwise but reading your email and other media news things are improving and the country is stable as ever. The election 2005 saga seems to have come to an end.

I consider Christopher Clapham's judgment of the current Ethiopian post-electoral crisis too categorical, too negative a review of EPRDF history and performance, and too charitable in its assessment of opposition motivation and behavior....

response to State Dept Human Report on Eritrea: An Outdated Tune!! comment:-The Eritrean regime vents its frustration
on the State Department! At first glance one would have thought this
is typical of Shaebia reaction in lieu of the current US State Dept
human report but this time Shaebia may have been tickled by the Appointment
of General Fulford as the technical advisor to the boundary commission.
It is such appointment Sahebia has been adamant about for long.
If the late, Ethiopian freedom fighter Dr. Senay
Likké could see his daughter now, he would be so proud.
Following in her father’s revolutionary footsteps,
Nnegest Likké is fighting a revolution of her own. But there
are no guns. This revolution is being fought on the big screen,
right in Hollywood's front yard
Comment:Some
of our readers are disappointed to read Dr.Senai Likki portrayed as
a hero in the article. People who have seen the horrors of the seventies
have every right to be angry. But the story is not absolving Senai
Likki. The story is about aspiring director Nnegeist. As an individual
she has the right to be her own person in her own making, and we respect
her right to see the good in her father as a daughter. While we should
never forget the atrocities committed during the red terror and the
actors in that era, we also think the new generation should not inherit
the sin of the seventies, that there should be reconciliation. In
that spirit we, as one of our Ethiopian sister, wish her good, and
encourage her in her aspiration to break the barrier found in the
African American community.
Ethiopia,
Eritrea less upbeat than U.N. on talks
Feuding neighbours Ethiopia and Eritrea have given a lukewarm reaction to
talks in London aimed at unlocking their border stalemate despite a U.N.
assessment that they made progress on marking the frontier...

The
European Left can not spoil Ethiopia's Democratization Process
On the foot steps of Anna Gomez comes Luisa Morgantini, an activist
who
is a member of Anti-globalization, Anti-capitalist , pro Euro
communist party with 97,784 members in a country of 58.4 Million people. These clueless leftist fringes, who don't even have good ideas for Europe, no doubt are being targeted by Negedes Gobeze of Ethiopia’s Socialist Movement to play destructive role in Ethiopia.
Despite the attempts to drag back Ethiopia, efforts are being
done to see Ethiopia in a better democratic space with a vibrant Parliament, responsible press where Ethiopian destructive opposition, the European leftist and the vicious Anna Gomez's vilification
campaign at the expense of Ethiopian democracy will be discredited
one year from election 2005.

The Beginning of a Transition? *[1] Some Comments.
(Antony Shaw, 3/09/06):- It should concern all Ethiopian scholars, Ethiopianists,
observers of Ethiopia that so much recent writing on Ethiopia, including
most of the discourse on last year's controversial elections, has been
politically inept, even malicious, propaganda, often of appalling quality.
Congressman Dana Rohrabacher
on Dr Berhanu
The Ethiopian constitution not only forbids a foreign national to hold
or be elected to a political office but also bars foreigners from owning
a land. We are not sure if the honorable congress man wrote this letter,
