We think there has to be another alternate to war as a solution. (Aigaforum 03/15/07): -For the last 10 years or so Ethiopia has tried to reason out with the Eritrean government a peaceful coexistence is the only viable option for the two brotherly people to live in peace. It has even traveled the extra mile to make peace with the Shaibya government after the costly war of 1998-2000. However every gesture and every plan it has forwarded has been met with contempt by the Eritrean government...

(Aigaforum, 03/14/07):- The five foreigners that were abducted and released in Asmara yesterday are due in Addis Ababa in the next day or so. They are in route to Djibouti. The whereabouts of the remaining Ethiopians is till unknown. The Ethiopian government has demanded the unconditional release of the hostages. more
Missing tourist Released
British diplomats or their relatives — were released in Eritrea and had been taken to the British embassy in Asmara, the Eritrean capital... Ethiopians ask a serious explanation on this! Now that the hostages are safe in Asmara, many Ethiopians and we are sure many foreign Millennium goers want to know what the Ethiopian government will do to curtail future similar acts of terror. This is more problematic to those who would be going to visit the northern region of Tigray. Debre Damo and Geralta areas similar to the Denkalia area is close to the unfortunate country called Eritrea and its terrorist sponsor government. There is no reason the Shaibya government will not repeat the same act on Zalambesa or Rama.

First private radio station inaugurated Addis Ababa, March 10, 2007 (WIC) – The launching of Fana FM 98.1, the first private FM radio station, will have a significant place in the history of Ethiopian media. This is a good beginning. Now let the licensing authority expand this chance to include more responsible private commercial owners even if the owners are supporters of the loyal opposition.It is the right thing to do!

Foreign Minister Seyum says his government does not know who the abductors are....and every body else say the hostages are in Eritrea! May be Eritrea has become a heaven for terrorist because they have no government like Somalia! More reason to be mindful. What is going on? When will Ethiopia stop being the playing field for the strong man in Asmara? How hard is to say enough is enough to Shaibya? This incident is not an accident; it came at the heels of a historic agreement between western media and Ethiopia to promote the tourist industry. No one is asking for war but why not we call a spade a spade. Not even a single animal moves in and out of Eritrea with out the blessing of Shaibya, Mr. Minister. Playing deaf ear is not working with Shaibya and the public at large. The government image is eroding too dangerously.
Ethiopia’s PM holds talks with IMF
March 8, 2007 (ADDIS ABABA) — The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that the economic growth registered in Ethiopia in the past consecutive three years have laid a foundation for similar growth in future.
Addis Ababa - The Ethiopian state news agency on Wednesday said that five Europeans and their Ethiopian guides abducted last week in the remote Afar desert were in Eritrea, quoting local elders. Many Ethiopians expect the Ethiopian government to address this particular incident for it has a huge implication. This cowardice act must be challenged so that it will never be committed again.
