Self –Evident Untruth

Before the ink is dry on the wall, those who endorse “Call for peace and Reconciliation”, starting with Ethiolion are backtracking. Palktalk was in firestorm, labeling the initiators as “Woyanes.” The snake oil sales men were forced to explain that the document was to pressure the Ethiopian government and also show by having signatures of all the civic organizations, and political originations and internet media, the government is isolated and stands alone. The fact is the reality of Ethiopia is more evident to Yamamato or the west than a signature from forces who zig-zag from one day to another.

The Joke is on You - PFDJ

An Eritrean sent us and e-mail about a video on Eri-Tv and pointed out
1) The speech given doesn't seem to be focused for the audience...because the use of many English words, and not sure the people really can follow the speech, so I don't think the person is stupid enough to add English when he knows the knowledge of his audience. In my opinion, I think it is probably for people in University.........

PM Meles's interview with Al-Jazeera
Andrew Simmons: I'd like to move on now to your deteriorating relations with your neighbour Eritrea. How bad are things at the moment?
Zenawi: Well, I think it would be fair to say that they are quite bad.
Andrew Simmons: And for what reason?
Zenawi: I think the Eritrean government has come to the conclusion that they cannot live comfortably alongside a strong, united Ethiopia, under any government, and have come to the conclusion that they should try to weaken and perhaps dismantle Ethiopia to feel secure....

The Horn of Africa is one of the most volatile areas in the world. Due this the countries in the area host numerous refugees who are escaping turmoil and persecution in their home. With it’s central location, Ethiopia is an important host for refugees from Southern Sudan, Eritrea, and Somalia. Refugees in Ethiopia (1) and (2)

Study finds one-third in D.C. illiterate
The growing number of Hispanic and Ethiopian immigrants who aren't proficient in English contributed to the city's high functional illiteracy
(Comment):- If something negative is reported about Ethiopia the vocal Diaspora never hesitates to blame it on the EPRDF, even the epidemic AIDS, which, like it has done to many other countries in the world, has devastated the country since early 1980's is blamed on the EPRDF. Even though EPRDF came to power in 1991! Now Washington DC the den of the many alphabet soup organizations that oppose the EPRDF government is now known for its high illiteracy. The worst part we Ethiopians are to blame for it. Wouldn’t it be better for community, church and political leaders in Washington DC to spent their energy on solving real community problems in Washington DC!

Ethiopia urges international community, media to put pressure on Eritrea to release hostages.
State Minster of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Tekeda Alemu held talks with heads of missions of various countries on the issue
The Eritrean regime has incriminated itself when it gave a podium to self declared terrorists on its television admitting the kidnapping. It is a vindication to the Ethiopian government which has claimed from the beginning the kidnapping was a work of terrorist groups controlled and directed by Eritrea. What else is more proof than Higdef(Eirtrean govt) itself has provided by putting them on its own TV.

The Ethiopian government should hold the Eritrean government fully responsible for this outrageous act. No government tolerates those who cross its borders and kidnap its citizens. Ethiopia shouldn't either. More

IMF Thinks Economy Heats Up
(addisfortune.com)
The IMF thinks the Ethiopian economy is heating up. For a layman economist like us this means the economy is doing well since "heat" is associated with some kind of energy and an economy with lots of heat is good! But we are sure this must also mean the economy must be macro managed so that it does not lead to unsustainable growth and super inflation.

What we really want to point in this story is what will the litany of oppositions who have spelt a bad omen to Ethiopia's economy because of bad management by the government of the EPRDF say? Who would they blame for the good showing? The EPRDF or their bad luck?

We know they were wrong to call for a boycott of Ethiopian Airline and the millennium because majority Diaspora Ethiopians are not heeding their call according to EAL: 20,000 Ethiopians in U.S.A. sign up for air tickets for millennium celebrations:EAL

Enough with Eritrean provocation
Editorial Ethiopian Observer- March 15, 2007:- Although war is the last option of resolving the issues with the rogue regime in Asmara, the Ethiopian government should primarily work hard for the release of its citizens...and thirdly cooperate with the international community and thereby request for the...

We think there has to be another alternate
to war as a solution.

(Aigaforum 03/15/07): -For the last 10 years or so Ethiopia has tried to reason out with the Eritrean government a peaceful coexistence is the only viable option for the two brotherly people to live in peace. It has even traveled the extra mile to make peace with the Shaibya government after the costly war of 1998-2000. However every gesture and every plan it has forwarded has been met with contempt by the Eritrean government...
