Successful
coup by Kestedamena? Lidetu Vindicated
The article "Issues
that had afflicted Diaspora Kinijit" explains the
Kestedamena –AEUP struggle for control of Kinijit ,that
has now become public spectacle a year after they claim to
know no party but Kinijit. Dr. Birhanu, has made it clear,
in his book (a book that paints the author and his party as
vanguard of Kinijit), that the Kestedamena was working to
see AEUP and UEDP-Medhin dissolved. It seems the x-EPRP of
Kestedamana, who were experienced enough in the fields “Duleta”,
are out maneuvering, and outflanking the boorish AEUP.
While AEUP is in untenable position (Beseferetu kuna mesefer),
and God know if they are going out of this in dignity, Lidetu, who
was demonized because he refused to dissolve
UEDP-Medhin before making sure the four organizations are
merged successfully, is building his party on strong
foundation. Read

Chinese President Hu Jintao pledges to double aid to Africa as
he opens a summit in Beijing with African leaders.
The Summit will include a Roundtable discussion in addition to
a High-Level Dialogue between Chinese-African Leaders and Business

The two splinters of Diaspora Kinijit are digging
in for the longhole, each claiming to have a support form Kalete.
The current letter ups the ante in that it not only supports Shalka
Yoseph but also supports the AFD with out ambiguity. At a time
when the letter shows CUD’s hope to piggyback on OLF, the
news that OLF is asking the Kenyan government in mediation may
be an indication that OLF has lost hope in the viability of the
unholy alliance.

A Commentary on Dagmawi’s recent Message “There is Never a Wrong Time to Do the Right Thing”
(Selam Yibeltal):- A saying that I saw on a billboard while driving in
Washington, DC seems to fit the message that I want to bring across. This
is a short viewpoint on a commentary by Dagmawi. It specifically relates
to his plan of research/ study on the Ethiopian government, the need for
a non-violent civil disobedience and the current conditions as discussed
below. I must say that it is indeed refreshing ....
Outline
for article: Why we need civil disobedience in Ethiopia Comment:Dagmawi has raised some good pointers
on how to democratize our society. However he seems to put much too much
faith on the jailed leaders rather than on the government who has the
power and desire to bring change. The jailed leaders failed our society
when they went astray last year causing death and destruction. This by
no means is a kind of civil disobedience Dagmawi should support. Civil
disobedience led by loyal opposition enhance democratization and we call
upon Dagmawi to support the loyal opposition in the country at the very
least. We think Ethiopia needs a progressive and forward looking government
to tackle her immediate problem, poverty. The current government must
be measured on progress made against such effort. Which policy needs to
change in order to catapult Ethiopia forward? Which institution needs
to be strengthen in order for democracy to take root? Let us spend our
energy on being a catalyst for positive change. It will do us a miracle.
Otherwise giving credit to foreign powers for any "positive"step the government
takes is really not helpful. Let us not push the government to tell us
one more time "Habesha Ayadnachu Ferenj Ayadnachu" Please!
We support Dagamwi's
call and Hagerfikir's
for any self respecting opposition to disassociate with Ethiopian
Review. Propagating religious conflict does not help democracy nor
will it help the opposition's statue. In fact it will consume them
and it will consume us. We call for friends of that website to counsel
the owner to shy away from such activities.Aigaforum

(Appraising Need & Relevance)
(Zerihun Teshome):- The brain and force at the center of what has become
to be known as the Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) is Al Iltihad Al-Islamiya(
AIAI). AIAI has gone through many mutations. "It was formed in Burco (Somaliland)
in 1984 through the merger of Sheikh Mohammed Issa’s al-Jamma al-Islamiya
and that of Sheikh Ali Warsame (Wahdat al-Shabab al-Islam).

Smithsonian Refuses To Exhibit Ethiopia's Fragile 'Lucy' Fossil
Plans for a six-year U.S. tour by "Lucy," one of humanity's earliest known
ancestors, have hit a major snag.Earlier this week the Ministry of Culture
and Tourism of Ethiopia and the Houston Museum of Natural Science announced
an agreement to include Lucy in a tour... But at least two major U.S.
museums now say the bones should not be moved and they don't want to show
them. Rick Potts, the director of the Smithsonian's Human Origins Program
and an influential paleoanthropologist, said he and many other scientists
agree that Lucy is too fragile to travel....

TDA -UK in Employment Corruption Haileselassie Girmay
Comment:TDA-UK has responded by saying that
the Management Committee has followed a proper recruitment and selection
procedure in line with the rules of the Charity Commission for England
and Wales, that recruitment and selection process was fair, open and transparent,
and they would be very happy to provide feedback in person to the person
who took issue on the hiring process. They have not, however, elaborated
if a relative of a board member is selected for the job and if so how
such action would not cast an image of conflict of interest if not be
a direct contravention of rules of Charity. Our wish is for TDA be exemplary
organization an continue its unparalleled help to our people. (Alula Nega)
Dear Aiga,
Greetings! This message could be late but as they say better late than never.
First time you made some remarks on the Algeris Agreement in relation to
the PM's brief in Parliament I chose to keep silent, next you reacted to
a certain group posted on Deqi Alula and now I read about the PM interview
on Dimsti Weyane regarding Shabia. Can any one for a sake of reason explain
to us why Ethiopia should follow different foreign policies between its
neighbors? Why should our brothers and sisters enter into Somalia and do
whatever they are supposed to do and then why are we told to keep quite
when it comes to Shabia? This reminds me of a Tigrigna saying of two merchants
who decided to take a nap on their way to long journey: when one was already
being attacked by a hyena and his colleague asking what is smelling, the
victims saying Ata suke bel ember kisae meantay absihuni eyu!
I think it was was for the PM to state one more to what he reported in parliament:
The Algeris Agreement is NULL and VOID. If it has lost its meaning since
long as He said it publicly why should we keep it. I have no personal hate
or disrespect to the PM as you may guess, on the contrary I am his advocate
but not on Eritrea issue for sure.
Respectfully Aron
Prime Minister Meles responding to a question raised by dimtsi woyane why
Ethiopia is not doing much to sabotage shaibya’s government said, “…if we
do exactly what Shaibya is doing then we become Shaibya and that is not
what we want to be.” Shaibya is arming extremist and jihadist in Somalia
hoping they will become an asset to fight Ethiopia. Our instinct tells us
to go and help The
Jihadist in Eritrea but then we remember the PM message, do we really
want to become shaibya? A Jihadist is a Jihadist anywhere.
