Ethiopians should express their opposition to HR2003

Thought for Today
If we believe there is no way around a problem, we close our minds to possible solutions. But if we believe we will find a way, then it doesn't matter what obstacles we run into. We get very creative. We see things we wouldn't ordinarily see, and we hang in there and get others to help us until we do find a way. Remember, the most powerful thing you can do to change your life is to change your beliefs about life and begin to act accordingly. by Lou Tice

The Eritrean FM does not even make a single mention to the most serious
material breach of the Algiers agreement, near total occupation of the
40KM buffer zone while severely restricting UNMEE ability to monitor
which the Algiers agreement explicitly states. The armies of both countries
are now literally meters apart. More seriously, Eritrea is now using
it conveniently to funnel arms and terrorist groups inside Ethiopia
to create havoc. Earlier this year, Ethiopian military intercepted hundreds
of rebels trained and armed by Eritrea (link below). Ethiopia can't
sit idle and allow Eritrea to undermine its security any longer.

Ethiopian Sovereignty must be protected!
(From our Readers.....)
The other day I read Zeru’s concern on foreign powers intervention in the
democratic process in Ethiopia. Truth be told thanks to Kestedemena and
AEUP/AAPO, led by Berhnau and Hailu, are doing all they can to buy votes
through the help of foreign subjects. This clearly is an affront to the
constitution and for the government of Ethiopia to sit idle and play the
hear no evil see no evil is travesty.
I certainly do not want to see another person killed in Addis Ababa simply
because the government is not doing its job to uphold the law! During the
last election these people were given the green light to insinuate and agitate
the public with divisive Ethnic agenda. And the result as we all know is
we lost hundreds of people.
Today as if lessons were not learned how to protect such calamity from happening
the same forces are allowed fresh from prison to go around the world to
lobby rich countries to stifle democracy in Ethiopia and to keep Ethiopia
hostage at the mercy of a foreign power. HR2003 is clearly against the interest
of Ethiopia thus undermines the constitution. Shame for Berhanu Nega and
Hailu Shawel camp to lobby for this knowing they signed not to undermine
the constitution any more! Aren’t Kestedemena and AEUP/AAPO legal political
organizations in Ethiopia? [B Hailu, 09/28/07]
The Ethiopian Constitution if I am not mistaken does
not allow political parties to collect money from foreign sources. If a foreign
subject, a government agency or an individual wants to contribute money towards
an election then it is the election board that will administer the distribution
of such funds among political parties. This is my understanding and I stand
to be corrected if wrong.
If true then on what ground are the Kinjit folks who were convicted and pardoned
collecting millions of dollars going around the world to use in their campaign
to unseat EPRDF? Who knows who is Ethiopian and who is naturalized citizen
of another country among the Kinjit supporters in the West who are showering
these leaders with money?
How is it these leaders are allowed to lobby foreign governments to subvert
the constitution and undermine Ethiopian sovereignty? Doesn’t the HR2003,
which gained the US House Foreign Relation Committee endorsement because of
the lobbying efforts by Berhanu Nega and Hailu Shawel camp, undermine Ethiopia’s
sovereignty?
The EPRDF government is dangerously trading on Ethiopia's sovereignty by
allowing such debacle to continue, if you ask me. [Zeru Hagos, 09/27/07]

Dear Satenaw, welcome regardless...all along our mission has been

Thumbs Up for
the Pragmatic Ethio-Zagol!!
By Satenaw
Not sure if Ethio-zagol guys deserve such accolade after running "kinjit"
to its grave by constantly feeding it false hope, but! any attempt to save
these people to be come useful is welcomed at Aigaforum!
Ethio-Zagol should have used its means and resources to save Kinjit to be
a loyal opposition instead of running with it to the abyss. Addis Fernji
has a secured home she can fly any time to when she added fuel to the already
burning fire during the aftermath of election 2005, what was Ethio-Zagol
thinking when they pamper kinjit to destroy our fledgling democracy then
and what changed now?

A year ago, this month, we lost Araya Zerihun due to a sudden heart attack. Araya was one of a kind “Harbegna Lemat” (a development solider and patriot). Ethiopians and friends all over the world mourn the loss of Araya Zerihun and to this day many are finding it hard he is really gone! Araya we miss you! Circus Tigray has produced a short musical documentary on his life.
