Surely, if Hailu is not able to prevent his lieutenant from coming to America, he can not sit in Addis and watch the allegations of embezzlement, allegations of authoritarianism, the disbandment of KIC be their agenda in his absence.The camp of “turncoats, double-crossers” and the camp of the old guards and “Amhara chauvinists” are gearing to fight it out in America. - The two-bit hustler is said to have stated that “he would do it again” referring to his decision to go to prison in a speach at his alma mater. The easiest would have been not to sign asking for a pardon. All are chasing a spirit called “Kinijit” none of them knows for sure exist! At no time will you find all of these in the same room talking the same language to be considered as functional opposition. The worst part, all of them swear in the name of Mama Ethiopia, that they are ready to lead! Do they really think Ethiopians are dummies that deserve to be led by dysfunctional groupings?

Update on "kinijit"
The Al Mariam group has disclosed that with or without Hailu Shawel "Kinjit" will live on and announced leaders will start their tour on 9/9/07! This confirms what many in the Shaleqa group have been saying and many in the Berhanu Nega group were quoted to have said. Hailu Shawel will be replaced by new leaders favored by the West! Guess who?

All kinijit leaders should not be thinking about coming to the West/USA with out Hailu Shawel! All are advised to wait in standby mode until Hailiu Shawel is issued a visa! In the absence of a visa for Hailu Shawel, all are advised to stay in Ethiopia and forget about coming to the USA or elsewhere. This proclamation by Kinijit supporters does not include Dr Berhanu who is already touring the States but if Dr Berhnau is smart he should abandon his schedule talk in New York on 9/6/07 for it contravenes the “spirit”. TIME: What happens in Ethiopia has an impact well beyond its borders. Why?
Meles: After Nigeria, we are the second biggest black African nation. We are the headquarters of the African Union. We are the only African country that has never been colonized. This is perhaps the last surviving African civilization. We have our own script. We have our own calendar. We represent the greatness of Africa's past. We also represent the worst of Africa's present, in terms of poverty. It is the best and the worst of African reality. .

Somali opposition figures are now conducting a conference in the Eritrean capital of Asmara. This city is becoming the center of insurgents and terrorist.
Among those in attendance is Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, leader of the Islamists that controlled much of Somalia for 6 months it was routed by government forces. The terrorist Aways is badly needed by the U.S.
Sheik Sheriff Sheik Ahmed,also, addressed the conference, and accused the United States of playing a confrontational role in the Horn of Africa nation.
A recent U.N. report accused Eritrea's government of assisting the insurgents.
Comment:-Dahir Aweys in Asmara and no one can do anything about it? Not Ethiopia? Not the Western World?

Nega said it's too early to tell whether he will run in any future election. "Most of the institutions that are necessary for democratic order don't seem to be operating right now," (Reuters)

His own party members have stated the power monger he is. He may have hustled his way to America thinking he will “lead opposition delegates,” but with out Hailu it is unthinkable in the eyes of the extreme diaspora, as Dr. Taye puts it "coming to America is like deserting a leader in a battle ground.”You are good as long as you are an errand boy.A stint in “Kality” is not enough of a pedigree to equal hundred years of sense of entitlement. And one should have had a better sense than trying to take power form “chauvinist” with turncoats as foot solders......There is no “impasse” as the Dr. will like us to believe. If the CUD wants to be goaded by EPRP once again and engage in the same militancy and extremism then it is not the problem of the Ethiopian government. Ethiopia has moved and those who were in prison understood this fact and had signed taking responsibility for trying to remove the constitutional order of the country. If he thinks “the apology letter is” free ticket out of jail only to re-enact the post election saga, he better think again for his own sake. If he still thinks democracy is show for “Ferenge” and he can play a character, or as a provider of 25% “loyal opposition” parliamentary seat, a conspiracy he is implicated to have been engaged by the “Militant CUD”, he is mistaken. ....[Alula Nega]
