Belated Update on Vocal Diaspora

Washington DC Demonstration Update (2/15/07)

The much awaited demonstration organized by the joint front of Kinijit International, Shaibya and the OLF failed to impress Ethiopians residing in Washington DC.

Aigaforum has learned though the demonstration was touted as a make or break public statement to influence the court in Ethiopia that is handling the kinijit leaders in Ethiopia it has failed miserably.

According to reliable person present at the demonstration, there were 25 demonstrators from Boston, 20 from Atlanta and the remaining 100 or so from Washington DC, Maryland, Philadelphia and New York/New Jersey. The demonstration was held in a very good weather with all government and private business opened for normal operation.

According to our reliable source this by far was a better showing compared to the Shaleq group who can only master 25 people according to Ethiopian review.

If you were reading us faithfully we have been trying to share with you how the vocal Diaspora masquerading behind a “spirit” called KNA was derailing the democratic undertakings in the mother country. Today kudus to those who have been doing their homework to expose KNA/KIL for what they are-a naked anti peace and down right kahadi sebseb, things are looking up!

The first step in the metamorphosis of the vocal Diaspora from being a “spirit” to a naked creature was when the Shaleq group and Berhanu Mewa group were not seeing eye to eye as we have told you before. Their difference came head on after their Kalit leaders fell apart on how to continue the struggle. Apparently Hailu Shawel and Berhanu Nega have kept their distance since Berhanu exposed the weak leadership of Hailu Shawel in his book” the dawn of hope….”.

The second phase of their metamorphosis came after the formation of AFD. After trying to form a coalition with OLF and Shaibya, known as anti peace and anti Ethiopia forces, Berhanu Mewa and Andargachew were not pleased the Shaleqa side went on with the signing with out them standing at the podium. Today while Andargachew is trying to fit in to the AFD crowed Berhanu Mewa has kept his distance. The Shaleqa however, true to his time earned wisdom, has gone quiet and is building his base with the support of core community leaders who do not want to fail yet one more time in their quest to undo EPRDF. Most of his supporters come from the failed AAPO movement.

The third and what could be decisive step in the unmasking process is that today it is not Aigaforum that will tell you KNA/KIL naked pure lies but themselves. ER the mouth of the once upon a time vocal Diaspora is telling us all the lies of the Shaleqa group. While Negat Radio from Washington DC and Asmara is doing like wise on behalf of the Shaleq group about Berhanu group.

The other catalyst in this transformation is the disenfranchisement of pal talk rooms. These rooms have been used to churn out rumors and innuendos in hope of intensifying the propaganda war against EPRDF. Even the notorious news fabricator Ethiomedia could not match these rooms’ tenacity and desire for any kind of news. Thanks to few good men and women there are few rooms that have come live to undress the undemocratic nature of the vocal rooms managed and administered by many of the defunct derge cadres as well as former owners of the tabloid papers.
