Dr.Brihanu, once gain, broke his self imposed gag order and managed to
descend to NPR to claim that he would have liked to take over Addis and
was denied by the ruling party. Weren’t his supports blaming Hailu
Shawil claiming he prevented them from taking over Addis because he does
not want Birhanu to out shine him? And what a contradiction- a party that
put precondition for entering parliament, and calls on unity government
would have liked to take over a city that is under the PM’s office!
Last time we were told that he said needs to answer Questions that he
did not get a chance to ponder on and is heading to the mountain top.
His side kicks, who applauded on what ever he said parroted
“Dr.
Berhanu Nega raises some provocative questions on the challenges facing
Ethiopia. He asks 22 important questions about both peaceful and armed
struggle, which need to be answered by all democratic forces.”
But wait a minute.. these questions that revolve around “Peacefull
struggle vs Armed struggle” were asked and answered by Dr
Birhanu himself in a book supposedly written in Kaliti (page 592 -611).
The thinker on a mountain top, took his time to justify as to why peaceful
struggle is better than armed struggle and the position of his party his
book.
Now Dr Birhanu repeates his doom and gloom self fulfilling prophesy he
echoed while in Kaliti again on NPR - that peaceful struggle is almost
closing and those who believe armed struggle is the solution are winning
he day. But don’t think that he is testing what it would feel for
armed struggle in Ethiopian mountain while in hiding in the skiing resort
of Pensylvania. No! the good Dr. has already stated that the role of his
likes would be limited to the time before the inevitable armed struggle
and after the winner is identified. Other wise they would be out of the
game (page 605-606). Well it does make sense, on one hand, that if the
time for armed struggle is at hand, one might as well take a teaching
position in US until the winner is identified. Now talk about free loading!!
Ethiopia is marching on the path of hope and development. And Brihanu’s
alternative is to preach the doom and gloom to anyone who is foolish enough
to hear him, from congress to American public radio, in hope that the
US would make him the Ahmed Chalabi of Ethiopia.
