Dear Colleagues:
Greetings to you all. We are sending this early call for Abstracts of invited papers to selected individuals, some of whom have participated in the previous three ICEDS conferences. Few abstracts have already started to trickle in response to the original call for papers. We are sending this call for to scholars who we believe will make important contribution to the various dimensions of the theme. Attached please find the Call for Papers and registration form, which you can also access on my webpage. http://homepages.wmich.edu/~asefa/
The new deadline for invited abstracts will be February 1. The deadline for finished papers will be April 1, 2007. If you can send your Abstract earlier, it would be helpful to us to plan for the conference. We would post the Abstracts on the webpage: http://homepages.wmich.edu/~asefa/
The details of the Call for Papers and Pre-registration forms are posted on the same website above. Please complete the registration forms and send it with your abstracts. Abstracts will be posted world wide on key Ethiopia related websites, and later published for distribution to the conference participants. Abstracts are invited from both individuals and organizations. Abstracts will be evaluated based on their quality and potential contribution to the objectives the conference.
Proposed abstracts must include the following to be accepted: 1 the full name of the individual, 2. the current affiliation including the state or province, and country of residence and 3. E-mail address. For organizations we require 1. The name of the organization (names of three panelists including their e-mails and affiliations)
2. State or province and Country of legal establishment or registration, and
3. E-mail address.
Expected Conference Results: Selected Abstracts will be posted on websites and published for distribution during the conference. Selected papers, following review, will be published in the 4th ICEDS Proceedings, and few will be considered for on a peer reviewed online Journal of Ethiopian Development Studies (JEDS). A summary of each session and panel prepared by chairs of sessions and panels will be prepared as 4th ICEDS major findings and policy recommendations for development
