Closing a Chapter

If you were like me you would have been disappointed and disheartened to see the flickering democratic process in Ethiopia being hampered by the extremist Diaspora over the past few years. The inalienable rights of citizens enshrined in the constitution to vote and be voted to public office brought by the sacrifices made by thousands of EPRDF members was construed and taken advantage by these extremist for sinister purposes. Right after election 2005 concluded peacefully the extremist went overtime to undo the process. Tens if not hundreds of blogs mushroomed overnight. Then it seemed, at least to me, the lord above instructed his disciples to open a blog and hammer the government with all kind of accusation. There were blogs by white, black and brown people. I am sure there was one by a yellow person some where and it would have been a perfect story for me to write had I stumbled on the yellow blogger!

The bloggers are now gone and EPRDF is running the country and Kinjit is no more. However one can not say they did not try before they call it quit. The bloggers that were telling the world kinjit is menfes/sprit has to swallow their pride and stop blogging after the menefes unravel in their face when Hailu fired Berhanu and Birtukan. The hired mercenaries left the country unable to find a feeding ground for their modern day colonial ambition. Even the lucrative NGO business could not save them. And the many brownie bloggers who were swearing like there was no tomorrow that could expose their prediction were left naked cold they have to go back to their cocoons. Remember those who predicted EPRDF to last six months and those who predicted Ethiopia to disintegrate if it moves in to Somalia? Well Ethiopia is in Somalia and not only six months but two full years have passed since then and the country could not be in a much better situation. It is being compared to early China in its economic performance and Ethiopians are appreciating day after day how astute the government of PM Meles Zeanwi is. So much so, many are begging the premier to run one more time for office!

The bloggers, had they read Ethiopia’s recent history, they would have realized early on TPLF /EPRDF were neither paper tigers nor cyber creations that could go in to oblivion with a stroke of a pen. They would not have spent their precious time correcting spelling errors and grammatical errors of their opponent writings! That kind of work is only good for students. EPRDF and it supporters were not students but teachers! They can teach any one how to win battles- battles that involve courage and wisdom. If it was not for such ability the EPRDF regime has, the bloggers would have dragged the country in to the abyss. The country would not have registered the growth it has shown in its economic life. But thanks to God, EPRDF was ready to step up the pressure and undo in no time the damage these irresponsible opposition forces brought the country. Kinjit  in no time was undressed and left cold  dry to crack and foreign sponsored mercenaries that were trying to create havoc were check mated in time forced to move on to Kenya and elsewhere.

Speaking about Kenya, I read some where one of the foreign agent organizations that was kicked out from Ethiopia managed to embed itself in to Kenya politics and released an “exit poll” result showing the opposition to have won. It would not be an exaggeration to say this report may be what is fueling the mass killing in Kenya!  The same agents tried to do the same thing in Ethiopia during election 2005. Remember Anna Gobeze’s leaked report that gave false hope to Kinijit? The EPRDF leadership was correct to force these types of agents from interfering in its internal affairs. Poor Kenya, it allowed all kind of merchant of worshippers of mayhem to be stationed in Nairobi assuming they will not hurt Kenya. Most if not all reporters who were forced to leave Ethiopia for their dubious work moved to Nairobi to write all kind of false news about Ethiopia.  Who can forget the one who died in plane crash in West Africa and the others who are still writing about the ONLF from Nairobi? Kenyans gave deaf ear to what they were doing in their midst. I can not imagine how afraid they must be to face angry Kenyans on the street now!-certainly with their "exit poll" documents at hand they must be afraid!

In closing the extremist in Diaspora are swallowing the death pill one by one closing and suspending their blogs. I can not be happier to see them go. With a sigh of relief I too will close down my rant on these people. This Chapter is closed now! All along I believed TPLF/EPRDF paid too many lives to squander the hard won victory. But at times I admit, I wondered if the country would survive the onslaught by the extremist and foreigner elements. So much so I and many like me decided to come out of our warm house and face evil head on. So long bloggers and don’t you dare to come back to say Zeru Hagos in your face we are back.
