Dear Aiga Forum Editor,
To add to what Markos Lemma and NewEthiopia commented, many Ethiopians appreciate the information you provide Ethiopians. Even those who had negative things to say about you prior to the last election are now flocking to your web site to get the real scoop. Many people are grateful for your service.
As NewEthiopia wrote, when it comes to Eritrea, the Ethiopian government is carefully adjusting its stance on the Algiers Agreement in general and the Hague decision in particular. It is playing an excellent diplomatic footwork. In this regard, it is getting plenty of help from shabia’s incompetence.
As for Somalia, Ethiopia has a legitimate concern about the events unfolding in that country. ICU, as many experts have pointed out, is an Al Iltihad Al Islamia by another name. Ethiopia had experienced the terrorist acts of this group before. So its involvement in Somalia is perfectly understandable.
The Somalia and Eritrea issues are different and need to be addressed differently. Ethiopia is not supposed to have one foreign policy for all. There is no one size fits all foreign policy.
While I am at it, I was dumbfounded to read an article on deki-alula web site that slams Aiga Forum for reporting the sufferings in Eritrea. Now I know it is not only shabia supporters who are incensed by your great scoop on the goings in that God Forsaken nation, but also some "Ethiopians". (Oh My!) Though the individual makes it appear as if he is coming from a nationalist angle, it comes across as an eye crying when the nose gets hit. Nevertheless, you should not respond to these desperate individuals' rants. They are trying to bring you down to their level. As NewEthiopia wrote, take the high road. Ignore the desperados and continue with the marvelous work you are doing.
