Don’t believe every thing you read on Tabloid Internet media!

As the cyber war continues in presenting the current Kinijit hoopla and a Slavery bill “HR2003”, we have noticed that same “cyber Tabloid Medias” have been lying and misrepresenting the facts by modifying, editing and inserting information from different legitimate news Medias.

What concerns us most is “weshit sedegagem wenet yehonal” as it is said in Amharic. The result of HR2003 passage is because of these Tabloid websites writings of inflammatory and negative report of Ethiopia and Ethiopians.

We tried to assess the motive of these website owners as to why they present wrong information about their country and to their Ethiopian readers?

  1. Is there an element of revenge in their motive?
  2. Do the readers accept what is offered to them with out verifying?
  3. Is this the only revenue website owners generate to make a living? By traffic count to there site and click through charges.
  4. What is wrong with the readers, don’t they ask if the information is credible or not?

Any way, the most copy right violators of the century are two websites; www.Ethiomedia.com and www.Ethiopianreview.com. Same of these website owners have been contacted and told by respected news agencies to take same web pages down. This is not the end of this story.  Here is a response we received from one of the news media.

Dear Ye Sunglass,

The Houston Chronicle does not allow its articles to be posted on
outside Web sites. We do occasionally give permission for hardcopy
reprints, but the wording of the article must not be changed. We did
not give permission for the owners of this Web site to post Eric Berger's article.

Thank you for bringing this copyright violation to our attention.

Sincerely,

Sherry Adams

We have informed Ms Sherry Admas that we will follow up on this matter to find out what kind of action or actions Houston Chronicle has taken.

Our contribution to a better Ethiopia and Ethiopians.
