IN SUPPORT OF OUR TROOPS
FIGHTING IN SOMALIA
From CUD Supporter
Dear Editor,
In advance please pass my sincere
support and utmost respect to our troops fighting in Somalia.
I am going to be honest with you;
I call myself and believe that I am a hardcore CUD supporter. I have a strong
detest for Meles’ handling of the post-election Ethiopian politics, which
resulted in the unfortunate killings and wounds of 193 and several hundreds,
respectively. Actually, I am one of the CUD supporters who have not yet
forgiven Meles for his role to cede Eritrea from its motherland. I am one of
Ethiopians who did not and will not forgive Meles for signing the ridiculous
Alger’s Agreement on the face of the sacrifice of tens of thousands of our
soldiers, the massacre of 50 children of Ayder School, killing and robbery of
innocent Ethiopians who used to live in Eritrea, on top of Shabia’s untold
robbery of properties of Ethiopian merchants and aid-food that was about to be
channeled to hunger-stricken Ethiopians.
I support the vision of CUD
leaders and the party itself and will continue to do so; however, my party’s
position regarding the UIC’s threat against Ethiopia has failed to pass strict
scrutiny test as we Ethiopians have compelling interest to protect our national
unity and sovereignty from current UIC threats or its would be emboldened
future threats. UIC’s declaration of jihad and claim of territories of Ethiopia
and Djibouti is a real threat to our country. The argument made by my party
claiming "UIC is not a real threat" is not valid. The more Ethiopia
waits, the stronger the UIC will become, given the strong support of the mad
man of Eritrea. Furthermore, we do not have to forget the interest in Nile
basin had made some countries to become historical enemies of Ethiopia. Once
UIC become strong, those historical enemies will not pass the chance of
destroying Ethiopia. Actually, they are in Support of UIC on this war already.
Therefore, personally, I am not voicing in line with my party regarding the war
against the UIC. Instead, I am fully in
support of our troops and wish them glorious victory.
Some people may think that I am
Woyanne loyalist or Woyanne. When it comes to my country’s national interest, I
am willing to be called “Devil” let alone Woyanne Loyalist. Regardless of
this, I am open to any argument on this issue. Should you decide to post this
comment on your website, any interested readers of yours may e-mail me at zemenu_abate@yahoo.com.
