No to colonization

I have differences with ruling party on many issues.  A few of them, On Eritrea, neither Eritrean got freedom nor Ethiopian people got peace and security. On Democracy, I do believe democracy is from the bottom to the top but EPRDF practices democratic centralism and it requires submission to the party. This deprives individual freedom and contradicts with democratic values. On the party, it should have been idea based national party instead of ethnic based coalition because we have million reasons that unit us.

I also support EPRDF on many issues. As the son of peasant from North Gondar, it represents my peasant family’s interest and millions like them. It is EPRDF that opened school and clinic for millions of peasants. It is EPRDF that enabled millions to have access for clean water, opened rural roads, create opportunities for millions by providing vocational training and many more achievements.

Now, it is difficult to be indifferent when foreigners with hate group trying to decide the destiny of Ethiopia. Whether it become law or not, the intent of HR is to fund a group to remove ruling party from power. The group will be funded, trained and advised by foreigners.  US did it before by funding EPDA but was not successful. This time will be the same.

I do oppose any form of meddling in Ethiopian internal affairs. I believe any reasonable person should oppose it too. This is pure and simple colonization.  It should be only the Ethiopian people who choose their leaders and change their government not foreigners.

Knowing the intent of the foreigners, what the government can do and should do is evoking Ethiopian nationalism. As we all know from our history, whenever we feel a foreigner threaten our dignity, independence, and sovereignty, no matter what, we stand behind our national leaders.

By evoking Ethiopian nationalism, the government can turn the table on these foreigners and their Askeris.  It is good opportunity for EPRDFto win back the heart and mind of people who were upset and had resentment. The important thing is having your side over 85% population.

As to those vocal Diaspora, let alone they will bring democracy and peace for Ethiopia, they do not have peace among themselves.  These desperate groups never played a constructive role. They form organization every year some times in months, but dies before it even celebrates its birthday.

They worship anybody they perceived he or she would return them to power. Not long time ago, they called Lidetu_ Mandela. Anybody who knows Lidetu doesn’t have the age, experience, intellectual capacity, wisdom, and philosophy of Mandela. It is big insult for Mandela who paid so much prices.

The hate groups just want anyone that makes them feel good even for one day. That is what Dr Birhane is doing. He makes them fell good while milking them. He is a good businessman, cashing on people’s emotion but dishonest even for himself. The whole World knows that he asked pardon for the crime he committed (by using poor street kids not his family). Then, He tells us he can go back to Kality if he wants. If he goes back to kality, I doubt he will have a chance to run to West once again to sale the story and collect cash.

I thought intellectuality was being enlightened, be truthful and making sense.  I guess not in Ethiopia.

The hate groups are so evil (most of them claim they are Christian, But Christianity is about love, care, compassionate, fairness, tolerance and respect) that want to achieve their goal at the expense of human suffering. They lobbied and protested to stop assistance for poor Ethiopians.  Since most of their families are out of Ethiopia, they wanted to deny the opportunities to millions kids in Ethiopia. They do not want them to get the opportunity they themselves and their families got.

If the congressmen were sincere about human right and democracy, why the congressmen didn’t do any thing against Eritrean regime that doesn’t have a single written law? Why they didn’t do any thing against Saudi Arabia where women are not even allowed to drive a car, work in office and walk on the street without men’s written permit?  Why they support president of Pakistan who ousted democratically elected government, how come they didn’t say anything against Egypt ‘s President Mubarek who received over a billion dollar every year for the last 30 years?  Why they supported dictators from Chile to Asia at least for the last fifty years. The double talk and hypocrisy did not help to secure US interest and its image around the World.

If it was about Human right, why they didn’t do anything about Guantanamo, Catherina victims, and Jena 6?

These congressmen think they can dictate their will on Ethiopia because she is poor. It is time for government and the people to tell them go to hell with your wheat, We Ethiopians rather live and die with our dignity and independence as we did it for the last two millenniums.   We have to tell them Ethiopia is the land of Alula and Teodros. The past generation didn’t allow colonization. Definitely, The current generation and future generation will not tolerate colonization. It is in our blood.
