Rediscovering Ethiopian Interest, a must for all Ethiopians
By Melkamu T[Melkamut@yahoo.com]
Audacious probes of the situation about the Ethiopian Diaspora do compel us to see The Forgotten Ethiopian Interest by the current Ethiopian opposition, the Ethiopian Diaspora that propelled CUD in particular. While it is known for sensible politicians that what is significant for a given nation is its own national interest, for the irresponsible Diaspora what propelled CUD, this is indeed relegated to the ocean of irresponsible negligence, through destructive and racistic moves.. In the sphere of healthy and rational consensus, it is known that this interest could be spelled out in terms national security, unity, economic wellbeing, peace etc. This is seen as the main prolegomenon and not the appendix of any country’s party political program. What on the other hand has become the Cinderella of the opposition Ethiopian political move and party program is nothing but the preeminent Ethiopian interest. Yes, the very core thing for which our forefathers died and sacrificed their lives.
It is indeed beyond the limits of human rational reasoning
to hear and see the opposition centers for former Derg members[CUD[1][1]] forgetting and even ignoring and sacrificing Ethiopian
interest so as to feed their own devastating egocentric wishes.[2][2] What can be worse than betraying
The revelation of the matter is this. It demands our perspicacious and decisive actions towards unity. At such a time like this, when some elite diaspora, former Derg members, through CUD, OLF and Shaebia are cooperating and negotiating to instigate more harm on Ethiopia, it is time to wake up and unite under the flag of Ethiopia forgetting and relegating our naïve and often negligible differences to the side. After all, here is the test of our so called Ethiopiawinet, which in actual fact has always been a symbol of unique freedom and unity not only for Ethioipians but for the entire Africa as well. It is time to preserve what our forefathers handed us down to our own generation today.
At this point, I cannot forget to say thousand thanks to Mr. Mulugeta Asrate Kasa who gave his interview with Hager Fekir Radio on Aiga recently. You revelatory speech is an eye opener for members of the silent majority. I urge the silent majority including the deceived majority of the Diaspora to listen to Mulugeta.
In conclusion, I would like to call for more revelatory inputs from you all who know and hear the truth of the matter. One very important part here is the role that the existing Ethiopian government should play in revealing to us who there people are. We know the government has a lot of balls at hand but this is also one ball that must be treated accordingly. This is important so as to awaken the innocent majority.
Finally, we must commend the Ethiopian government for its
courage to be the first Ethiopian government ever to launch development
endeavors throughout
A word must be said about being opposition to a given party. A distorted form being opposition is seen in our case. The fogs of being in opposition must be cleared up. The purpose of being in opposition to a given government is to find better ways of governing a country than the existing ruling party or the incumbent government. But this does not come by intimidating and silencing the majority or those who tend to have different views than the opposition parties. This kind of opposition is primitive at best and destructive at its worst. You can oppose a party having in mind that you may also loose the game.
