Response to Awate.com Editorial Team Regarding
the Jihad Word

An Eritrean website media calling itself Awate.com, in its editorial page came with the headline [‘The gate of the Hell- Horn of Africa”-Awate Team December 19,2006], It is not a secret declaration that the Jihadist in Somalia declared Jihad against Ethiopia. Some if not many Islam religion followers from Eritrea and Arab countries do little to condemn the usage of such word against Ethiopia. The editor in Awate.com website who is by religious “Islam” is one of the individuals who is careful to not hurt the Jihadist of Somalia by beautifying their declaration of a Jihad against Ethiopia tried to misinterpreting to us the Christians on what the definition of Jihad meant by the Somali jihadists. Let us read Awate.Com editorial’s team of definition of what “Jihad” means “The first one is the case as advanced by Meles Zenawi. Unlike English-speakers, Amharic-speakers have not yet developed the appropriate translation for the word "Islamist." Absent this word, Meles Zenawi has been substituting it for "Jihadists." But Jihad, according to Islam, is legitimate in self-defense so when Melles Zenawi uses the word "Jihadists", some hear what he intends by its use (violent extremists) but others hear, "people engaged in self-defense." And since the Islamists have framed the issue as a struggle between a group trying to invade them and group trying to defend themselves, the "jihadists" description does nothing but exacerbate religious tension”.

What we learn from the top Islamic clerics based in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Islamic world is different than that of the above definition. The war of Jihad on the eye of the Ethiopian experience through out our history of the victimization of a Jihad war by Arabs and Islamic states against Ethiopian Christianity is considered “a holocaust”. If one wants to deny what was been done to the Axumite civilization, if one wants to forget what was been done by the Jihadist Grange Mohamed and the Somali mercenary soldiers participated on the extermination/holocaust, if one wants to disregard what the Arab Jihadists and Islamic States did to Ethiopia to disintegrate Eritrea to made it one of theirs, if one wants to deny how the jihadsists use the sward of Jihad to convert millions of Ethiopian Christian religion followers to convert them to reach where the numbers are now, to the extent burning their churches and replaced them for mosques and their names, speak, write, pray dress Arabic, and burned all books written in the indigenous language destroyed including arts and obelisks anything that have to do Christian and Christianity, if one denies results in such noticeable hegemony was not the result of offensive Jihadism (not defensive, or self defense-but offense) then one must burn his manuscripts of Islam for ever and became something than to engulfed himself with a lie.
The definition of Jihad is not love and communication. It is communication of hate, terror and a holocaust. Jihad is full of bigotry. Jihad doesn’t allow a fight between Islam-to-Islam states/ brothers. It propagates Jihad to be declared only against the “kufar” (Christian what they called us the infidels). Let me give you some quotation what Jihad mean and its purposes not defined by the Awate Team OR English dictionary definition- but by the most educated Islam leaders in Saudi Arabia “Sheik Abdul Aziz Qari, Qaba mosque, medina (undated) “. Therefore Jihad is not only defensive but whose purpose is also the spread of religion. Not only it is campaign of force to spread Islam but Jihad is also the pinnacle of terror as far the enemies of Allah are concerned. Who is the enemy here by the Jihadists? The Kufar
Those quoted above are speeches exerted from Friday sermons in the Saudi Arabia mosques. Not from some English dictionary the Awate team wanted us to read. These speeches of definition of Jihad are delivered from highest Islamic Sheikhs and Imams.
Brothers and sisters, let me tell me conclude that being victims of Jihad throughout our history, I doubt there will be fool to be ditched by the Awate.com’s beautification of the word Jihad in the usage of the English translation. That says all to the beautification of his definition of “Jihad” when such brutal word is meant to us to the Ethiopians as worst Nightmare” equal to a holocaust
