Press Release

Nov 7, 2007

The office of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center will soon take the initiatives to launch a grassroots mobilization across the board of Somali and Ethiopians in US. This is an effort to make sure that the oppositions do not undermine the progress of the region already in place, and thus threaten the security of the whole region.

Mr. Omar Jamal just returned from trip to D.C and held meetings with Senators and Ethiopian Ambassador to make sure that there is wide spread understanding about the issues at the region. Somali Justice Advocacy Center urges people to contact their Senators to urge not to support HR 2003.

This bill is utterly misleading and thus creates confusion to undermine already progress in the making.

The Center is now in full motion to mobilize an already overdue work to bring the Diaspora people together to rally behind our cause: peace and stability of the region.  The Center would like to make sure that petition sent and calls made ought to be authentic and verifiable. Remember we do things in the right way, because we have the popular will on our side. In democracy, it is the rule of the people, not the rule of few demagogues in D.C misleading the legislators.

Somali Justice Advocacy Center will soon announce a conference to bring the people together from Ohio, Toronto, and D.C and Minneapolis.
