TDA Northern California  branch held a very Successful Fund raising Night.

(Aigaforum, Dec 11, 2006):-TDA's revival in North America continues with  full speed through out the States.  As we all know by now  TDA members and supporters have pledged to build 14 elementary schools all over Tigray. While Boston, Las Vegas, North Carolina and Seattle branches have already managed to raise the funds needed to build the schools many others are following in their foot steps. Bay Area held its fund raising night on Dec 9 2006 in San Jose California.

Many people think California has the best weather  in the States. Having lived in California for over 24 years one can not agree any more. However last week after having a wonderful and pleasant weather all week starting Friday and all the way to Sunday  morning the weather was ugly. TDA-NC organizer not deterred by the weather went ahead and organized  a wonderful fundraising party. People all the way form Fresno and Santa Rosa came to the event. Over one hundred  gathered in the small hall and entertained themselves with the famous Chera player Artist Wedi Shuk and the young Haile.

The musical and funds raising night was the most lovely and warm party I ever saw said one participant. An auction for a small bottle liquor that was donated by one of  our sponsors from Oakland/San Francisco business community  was sold for over $600.00 dollars and another DVD/VHS player for  over $200.00.

Organizers were thrilled the event went so smooth given the bad weather. Food and most drinks were donated by members and supporters. The organizers would like to thank  Ato Tsehaye and Ato Abeye from Oakland/San Francisco. The mothers from San Francisco and San Jose for preparing the wonderful food and for the youth association for their support to make the fundraising night  so  pleasant.
