The Agony of Defeat Girma Kassa Style!
In the early eighties fresh from the Ethiopia plateaus and mountains I came to the good old USA. Then I used to watch weekend sport program by The American Broadcasting Company (ABC). The program starts with a sport flash scene and the word “ The Agony of Defeat” inscribed. Though I have forgotten many events this particular slogan is still ingrained in me.
Today wondime (brother) Girma Kassa reminds me yet again the agony of defeat will remain ingrained for many years to come. Ato Girma after spending and retiring not one but two, three Mandela’s from his Kinjit the Menfes organization is trying to tell me and you he has found a new hero in Siye Abraha. This after he has deposed and rejected first Ledetu Ayalew followed by DR Taye and Hailu Shawel from his kinjit. Is this not the agony of defeat friends? How else can any one explain Girma Kassa recent writing in finding solace in Siye Abraha knowing what he has been up to? Could it be the flag? What flag did you ask? Well click here!
Girma, the door to civil and constructive politics is not closed in Ethiopia. Instead of extending your agony abandon your dream of the old Ethiopia and join the millions of Ethiopians that are working day and night to change her image. Stop playing with words. Ethiopia has changed for good. The old Ethiopia where your neighbors from the Somali community used to despise it is gone. Be honest to yourself and admit the new Ethiopia is good for all of its citizens and that we have more Ethiopians calling Ethiopia home than ever!
Today’s Ethiopia is protected and enriched by all her Ethnics. And if you are in short supply of heroes and heroines go search the plateaus of Badme for these heroes, at least you will find their remains there! Or go search the many development heroes that are making a difference in each Ethiopian household by defeating poverty. Otherwise no one will believe you, certainly I, if you were to have found a hero from those who run away in search of better lives leaving behind a broken nation under the yokes of a brutal dictator Mengisu Hailemariam.
And my one brotherly word of wisdom to you is: stop playing the Siye card! If not I will ask Aigaforum admins to play back what Berhanu Nega supporters have been saying about him [Siye] and about Tigreans in general when time was not as bleak as it is now for them. In other words stop pushing me to the edge! “Zeaklen Tihenen BeAlemaraim Endayhone Wondime”. I can forgive but I cannot forget to be fooled again.
