The Fading world of the Shewakenas
"The Aiga website, the den of the thoughtless tribal bullies that do a lot of work to spread
interethnic hatred among Ethiopians than anything useful even to the TPLF,
has it as its big news and as an addition to its collection of reasons to justify
the necessity of a new round of war against Eritrea. These bullies who ran the
website on behalf of the TPLF from their warm homes abroad are calling the TPLF
government to go to war with Eritrea completely forgetting that more than 70 thousand
sons of poor people have already perished for nothing in another war between the two
countries a few years ago. The names of the perished thousands or a single photograph
of any of the dead have yet to be published. May be that has confirmed to them that
there is a lot of expendable life in Ethiopia. I never knew narrow ethnic nationalism
could turn healthy people into complete fascists. There is nothing sickening than
seeing these sick people praying for another war...from Shewakena posted on the web”
These days the wrath of Shewakena is on Aiga. Shewakena can not point to a single
article that spreads ethnic hatred among Ethiopian. Rather Aiga has, as its motto, unity in
diversity, and works for a mosaic Ethiopia to be a reality. What the Shewakenas made tick is
the fact that they have not succeeded in isolating Tigrians with their self serving static view
that Tigray has benefited at the expense of the rest of Ethiopia . The era where they
would be the VIP, called on dispense accreditation of Ethiopianess, is over. Nation Nationalities
of Ethiopia are proudly standing together, claiming Ethiopia on their own right.
Maybe Shewakena is loosing it but Aiga has not called for war. Rather Aiga is calling
the government to review its policy on Eritrea . As it stands the government seems to have
a defensive position content with keeping tab and thwarting every act of sabotage by Shabia.
Of course these has its own effect of emboldening Shabia to feel it will not be accounted
for its action and continue to figure a new maneuver of sabotage one after the other.
If it is not through Sudan , it would be through Somaila, if it is not through OLF it is
through CUD. This defensive policy’s flaw is on the fact that the Ethiopian Government
has to get it right 100% of the time. And we all know Shabia has to get it right once to cause damage
on Ethiopia!
Shabia’s impunity emanates in part form the fact that, as it stands, it knows the government
of Ethiopia will avoid war at all cost. But to keep peace one has to show that it is
willing go to war to guard its piece. Had the American government had not shown tail
and retreated with the death of 18 of its people prior to 9/11, it would not have embolden its enemies to
the level of executing 9/11.
To avoid war the Ethiopian government has to show that it
would not hesitate to wage war to guard its peace and security. Shabia guards
its power and it will not stop its sabotage unless it knows Ethiopia will take it
out. The Ethiopian government should move from
the “bring it on” declaration and start diplomatic protest and make it known to
the world that it would not tolerate Shabia’s sabotage. As a government it can’t
take the kidnapping of its citizen as a sacrifice paid for development sake.
It is the government’s duty to protect its citizen and go to war if need be. At least it
has to show it cares by doing every thing possible short of war.
Of course the Shawakenas don’t want a government that review its policy from time to time,
correct mistakes made and strive for perfection. To bad for them Ethiopia has moved on for the
better. Despite their omen the Ethiopian government has shown that it can protect the Ethiopian
sovereignty by planning and executing a just war. Somalia is moving for
the better as source of stability and good neighborliness. What the Shewakenas want
is an impoverished country waiting for their comeback for salvation. What they want
is a monopoly over Ethiopia to dispense citizenship on their whim. To bad for them,
their world is receding to the past with Ethiopian nation and nationalities reclaiming
the Ethiopia they deserve. EPRDF is raising high the Ethiopian flag.
