Time and again renegade and blunder reigned, in the camp that claims to be “MENFES.” While preaching the “holy spirit of Kinijit” indeed, the real devil spirit of the unholy alliance surfaced and betrayed their true nature and identity. Even if it is a shocking blow to the rank and file of that camp, it is a reality that they are harvesting what they planted.

Contrary to many naïve followers of the pseudo-party the split of Kinijit is not observed as a current phenomenon. The one and only reality is that Kinijit did ever never existed in its full form. There was only a collection of bandits and renegades that conspire against the unity and prosperty of Ethiopia and its people. What is falling apart now is, this unholy alliance of conspirers. If prudent measure and action were not in place by the government the outcome and consequence of these conspirers would have been unparalleled scenario in Ethiopia history. Taking into account the damage that occurred so far and not belittling it, if this unholy conspirers’ alliance was given a free ride, more blood shed and social catastrophe would have been observed. However, thanks to the precaution measure of the government and the far sighted and tolerant behavior of our people their intension was deterred in its initials. In a word, all the evil intentions and their consequences were and are managed. However, it will be erroneous to undermine the forth-coming challenges. To challenge and take proactive measure against these evil intentions and their outcomes it is wise to examine briefly the metamorphosis of the unholy alliance.

The reality.

As the naïve followers of that evil coalition believe or flounder to convince others, Kinijit never existed in a fully coherent identity. It was a mere collection of individuals with various evil motives and needs lacking neither either clarity of idea nor integrity of conscience. While the ardent chauvinist group of Hailu Shawel intended to gain the support of the intelligentsia by using the leverage of the Berhanu’s camp by seeming to be accommodative to the intelligentsia group, the opportunist Berhanu group was with an intension of using the structural and financial capacity of the chauvinist arena.

The merge of these two forces did not come with a common program. It never had the same goal. It never shared neither the same vision nor the same agenda for Ethiopia and its people. What they had in common was the hastily written “Election Manifesto. In every standard, Election Manifesto could neither replace nor serve as organizational program. Prior to the evil formation of the so called coalition, in spite of their limitations, some members of the coalition, especially the chauvinist group of Hailu is known with its divisive organizational program, that covertly advocates the rebirth of the obsolete chauvinist system of NEFTEGNOCH and overtly preaches ‘’democracy’’. Little is known over the organizational program of Keste-Demena of Berhanu and the League of Alemayehu Areda. However, individuals like Berhanu and Alemayehu Areda who consider themselves as the foremost intellectuals of Ethiopia, wouldn’t dare to form organizations without political, economical and social program.

Nevertheless, at the time of the formation of the coalition or prior to its formation, at the time of the election campaign, all the program of these organizations were left behind under the writing pad of the “honorable” chairmen. To form the unholy alliance of Kinijit or coalition neither party came with its party program. They were boxers without gauntlets. The only device what they brought to the fore front the Ethiopian public was only hate and hate program covered with the Election Manifesto. They brought to the table farce action, condemning EPRDF and igniting hate. They came to the arena with false promises and gloomy visions.

Thus hate could neither be a program nor a vision. The futurity of Ethiopia and its people was left to the after math of the election. The only motto was, let us overthrow EPRDF under any guise, then among us the smarter will be the winner. Such a simple layman and irresponsible theory. The main political issues of Ethiopia and its people such as the question of nations and nationalities, poverty reduction, prosperity, democracy peace etc. were side lined. Therefore, under such circumstance, one couldn’t think Kinijit was a coherent party with clear vision and objective. Kinijit lacked not only coherence but the basic bench marks of a political party that single out it from other opposition parties as an identity. In this sense and in a legal and political standard Kinijit never existed in the Ethiopian political reality, except as a nightmare in the minds of its naïve followers.

The issue at hand.

During the leadership crises within the TPLF that occurred six years ago, Ato Meles Zenawi, the prime minister of Ethiopia, hurried to Tigray to seek the support of his party’s base. Even though, I personally disagree with some actions perpetrated by his high official supporters, the measure and the way what the prime minister took and followed at that time was unquestionably correct. That phenomenon has taught to Ethiopian politicians and parties that at times of crisis leaders of political parties should go back to their constituents to get the confidence of their supporters. Such a measure could be a good lesson where and when the basement of a party and the leadership should come together to address their internal problems and to go forward confidently as a strong credible party. It shows whether the leadership of the party enjoys a public support or not.

Similarly, we witnessed where the so-called Kinijit leaders rushed to seek a support. We didn’t see them going to Gojjam or Shoa where they claim to have a strong support. Even they didn’t dare to face the residences of Addis Ababa, where they won the 2005 election. Why?

Time and again as many credible observers of Ethiopian politics remarked the gain of Kinijit in the 2005 election did not emanate from its strength. The out come was mainly associated with weakness of the EPRDF, especially due to the lack of an adequate concern and a pragmatic solution to the wide range problems of the youth, who is the victim of the multifaceted problems, who opted to say no against EPRDF. The residents of Addis Ababa not only said no against EPRDF but also gave their support to the evil alliance without calculating the tangible consequence. The resident wanted to punish EPRDF. This doesn’t mean, however, that the resident of Addis Ababa was confident with visions and creamy promises of the ‘’DEVIL MENFES:”

This argument has now proved to be absolutely correct more than ever. The Hailu or the Berhanu group didn’t go to the residents of Addis Ababa, to the “their” constituents. By heart they know the residents of Addis are not their constituents. The cunning spirit from inside tells them that they do not belonged to the prosperity, peace and democracy seeking Ethiopians. They established their alliance in hate on hatred. That atmosphere didn’t exist amongst Ethiopians at large. It only existed with remnants of the last regimes residing abroad.

Therefore they rushed to the USA and Europe where the hate mongers and their real base are located. From the day they released from prison their top most agenda was to collect visa and to go abroad. From their devil instinct they learned that the first come is the first served. Thus, the two camps were as hasty as an epidemic to contaminate, exclusively, the rotten hate mongers Diaspora. As the saying goes, “birds of the same feather flock together”, now they are singing the anthem of hatred and chauvinism from the halls of DC. To sum up, the leaders of the unholy alliance didn’t travel to the west to thank their supporters, as many fools think. Politically, they harried to the west to where they belong and to where their “mass support” is located.

This reality proved not only they lacked the mass support in Ethiopia but also it illuminated the fact that they lost the determination to face the people of Ethiopia at large, even the residents of Addis Ababa. In a word the reality proved that they have lost the confidence of the public in Ethiopia.

The Reaction.

Berhanu and Hailu Arrived in the USA One after the other. As the first come is the first served, for the time being Berhanu seems to enjoy the “majority” confidence of the hate mongers, as he is the first arrival. In his hodge-podge speech he tried to engineer the ABC of politics and democracy. Even though, that speech could not qualify to be used as a piece of lecture in his rumored future occupation at the ‘’neighborhood college’’, his hate monger audiences joined him with applause.

In context the speech of Berhanu seems a lecture written by somebody who is an alien to the Ethiopian politics as Anna Gomez. The issue of nations and nationalities, which is the crux of politics in our country, was intentionally evaded. He was also evasive on issues of poverty reduction and other similar economical, and social agendas. He was contending to show his vacillating supporters how orator he is. Though, Berhanu is identified with his vacillating stances he seems not to realize how more vacillators are his admirers. He did not realize or didn’t want to realize that the “gentlemen” who sat besides him on that lecture were people who swirl from North Pole to South Pole.

The late arrived Hailu Shawel who surprised his men in a wheel chair was ridiculed and disrespected by his former supporters. His wheel chair appearance seems to have a negative impact on his capacity to convince them that he is still strong. In spite of his central role and image in the chauvinist camp, currently the opportunists and vacillators have denied him a full support, pushing him aside to the camp of the EPRPs’.

Thus, currently there seems to be misplacement. The dubious Berhanu and his junior partners like the heifer Bertuquan and the others sat at the fore front cabin of the chauvinists. However, as to many observers remarked Berhanu and Shawel seem to be misplaced. As he tried fool the Shawels at the pre election era Berhanu may distort, the confused hate mongers and may take his lion’s share. Lastly and certainly those who now accompanied Berhanu will betray him, and he will betray them too, and they will join the camp of Shawel.

The out come.

As in the whole process of its inception, existence and progress, Kinijit has proved to be a looser it will continue as a looser in this new campaign too. As Kinijit is a coalition with wrong promises, shrewd inter connections it has proved by itself its lack of confidence amongst the Ethiopian people by rushing to the west residing hate monger supporters.

Now kinijit is left with one option. It may exist as a party of the Diaspora for a while and finally will dissolve, on due process. It will continue creating illusions in the Diaspora, milking the Diaspora and will die in Diaspora. Things have fallen apart. The mask has torn apart revealing its Devilish face. The unholy alliance has disintegrated. This disintegration is not limited only in the boundaries of Ethiopia. Its disintegration has out stretched to the other side of The Atlantic and other parts of the world. Now, there in its true foundation and base it is digging its grave by its own teeth. The people there, the hate mongers Diaspora supporters are smart enough to arrange its burial soon enough. In the heart of Ethiopia there is no account to settle.
