Update on Vocal Diaspora and Knijit North America

                        At a cost of Ninety Thousand you can also have a visit to the White House

( Aigaforum, Nov 10, 2006):-The other day I was privileged to one of the pal talk rooms. For those of you who do not know what pal talk room are, it is a cyber room where people discuss what is in their mind over the internet. All you need is a pc with a mic and an internet connection. The particular room I stumbled too is called current affairs. Though I am not surprise what the vocal Diaspora can do any more, I was a little bit surprised the guest of the hour was one of the CUD NA(KNA) Leaders Ato Solomon. I thought Shaleq Yoseph and Ato Solomon were persona non grata as far as pal talk and the vocal Diaspora gangs were concerned for instigating the split in Kinijit International (KIL)

For more than an hour, I think, I sat there and listened to what Ato Solomon has to say in regard to Kinijit North America financial matters. Apparently there is a huge discontent with supporters on how their money is spent. Ato Solomon told his audience that their money is well spent and well kept.

Apparently sensing the street smart Berhane Mewa and Andargachew Tsige machination to over take the leadership role in Diaspora Kinijit the Shaleqa and presumably with Ato Solomon decision some of the money was kept out of reach of the two individuals. Ato Solomon told his audience the money is deposited in a money market account. What prompts me to write this is however what Ato Solomon said on the where about of some Ninety thousand dollars.

Mayor Giuliani is a good person and well to do. He is one of the potential candidates that are rumored to compete for US presidency in the next election. Today Mayor Giuliani is also a once upon a time lobbyist for Ato Solomon and company interest. With out a shame Ato Solomon told his audience KNA has spent Ninety thousand dollars for lobbying effort. What was worst in this unbelievable story told by Ato Solomon was that all he has to show for this was a five minute or so sit in one of the White House rooms. Apparently Mayor Giuliani, in return to his Ninety thousand fees, has facilitated for Ato Solomon to see some official in the White House. Mayor Giuliani as I said is a good person but he should not have taken such huge money from poor Ethiopians. Ato Solomon is a rich man I am told and it would be nice of him if he can refund the poor supporters their money and cough up his own money for his white house visit. Or at the very least the Mayor should return the money now that HR5680 is dead!

KNA does not have a lobbying agent any more. According to Ato Solomon they have learned their lesson not to go this expensive route again. He acknowledges many of his supporters do not know lobbying takes time and is expensive.

The other matter he addressed was about the split. He affirmed that Hailu Shawel is on their side and from here on ward people have their choice how to organized and fight for what they believe in. As for Kinijit there is only one Kinijt and the leader is Shaleqa Yoseph.

It is to be recalled Aigaforum reported that KNA hired Mayor Giuliani Company as its lobbyist arm a while ago. It also reported that Berhanu Mewa and Andargachew Tsige will be a source of discontent within KNA. For a person with an open mind all this was open for any one to see. One can not organize a political organization with out a cause. The vocal Diaspora agenda has no anchor principle. Yesterday it was Assab politics they were trying to rally their supporters. And look where they are now, in Asmara in bed with Shaibya and in AFD land in bed with ONLF and Al-ITHAD of Somalia. Today they are trying to rally the crowd behind another non issue to many Ethiopians: that they are the better friend of Hailu Shawel and people should listen to them.

There is more to come on this story since the Berhanu Mewa gangs will be assembling in Atlanta Georgia this coming week end (11/11/2006). I can not wait to hear what they have to say. Dr Berhanu is an articulate person and he must have articulate followers to listen too. In case you did not know it is public knowledge, the split in the vocal Diaspora land is attributed to a suspect relationship between Hailu Shawel and Dr Berhanu Nega. I am aware what Hailu Shawel said in one of his Boston meeting before he was put in Jail in reference to Dr Berhanu.
