'' Trail points to Ambassador Clarke and a wider concerted effort'' (Security
Sources)
Two expatriate staff of the European Commission in Ethiopia has been ordered
to leave the country immediately after being caught red handed attempting to
smuggle suspects wanted by the law, out of the country. According to
information provided by reliable sources close to Ethiopian security, the
suspects whom the two expatriate staff went a great length to illegally
''traffic'' out of Ethiopia and in to Kenya have been on the wanted list of law
enforcement for committing offense, which is described under Ethiopian law as a
serious crime.
The encounter that resulted in the arrest of the wanted suspects as well as the
subsequent expulsion of the two European Commission staff for their illegal
involvement in activity described as detrimental to rule of law, national
sovereignty and security, took place 600Km away the capital where EC head
office is located; at the immigration check point on the Ethiopia-Kenya border.
The expelled EU staff who hit the road all the way dawn to the southern border
town of Moyale with the express intent/purpose of carrying the stated smuggling
of the suspects has used a car with diplomatic plate belonging to the
commission. They have equally tried, disclosed our sources, to also defy law
enforcement personnel at the check point so as to escape ''with their illegal
precious cargo on board'' untouched; still putting their apparent diplomatic
status as reason for refusal. But it was of no avail.
Commenting further on the involvement of other European Commission personnel,
our sources said, the trail of evidence and facts irrefutably point to others,
and, particularly the top diplomatic brass of the institution i.e. Ambassador
Timothy Clarke. Both recent and past post election deeds, such as the
intentional leak of a preliminary election assessment from the desk of the
"infamous EC "observer mission'' chief, Anna Gomez; the similarly
orchestrated leak of a yet to be released inquiry report that followed a
''trafficking'' of a member of the inquiry commission to Germany via Bole; the
sheltering of Kinigit's ex-leadership after the elections and yet without the
presence of any threat or danger (the purpose being creating an image of crises
and non existent abuse not to mention the arrogance of acting as if beyond the
laws of a sovereign country) plus a similar sheltering of a suspect wanted by
the law for offenses, and not for political conviction, as it took place very
recently etc... clearly show the track record of the EU as well as some of its
delegates in Ethiopia. Thus establishing the facts constituting the trail
mentioned, commented the sources.
Additionally our sources mentioned specific instances where by Ambassador
Timothy Clarke has been seen involved in relation to this present illegal
exercise. So far neither the Ambassador nor the EC Ethiopia office have come
forward with official apology or remark, said the sources, because they pretty
well know they have been caught with their hands deep into the cookie jar.
Concluding their information the sources lent an advise; in as much as Ethiopia
respects its partners and diplomatic residents, it equally stands firm not to
negotiate its sovereignty, respect for its laws and peace under any pretext or
circumstances marked by such vulgar interference in its affairs.
