Dear readers, concern Ethiopians and our friends,
In this times, where our country is moving in the right direction and also is picking up speed in the developments, the nation of Ethiopia and its peoples are progressing in democratic, civil, development, education, moral, communication, human rights, women's' equality, youth development, automation of tax system and a whole lot more.
At the same time there are some draw backs and hick ups, shortage of goods out of historically high demands, or price hikes of upper scaled grains and cereal like teff as a result of more people having more financial capacity to even start buying the food of their choice as a result of better fiscal year, or the fuel price hike for the same reason as of the whole wide world.
The other problem is the political opposition that has chosen to be diaspora led only, which is not necessarily bad by itself, but most of the diaspora politicians can be categorized in few classes. The ones that were the leaders of the derg era killings, from both side (both white and red shibir), or the ones that came to the Western world before HaileSelassie left the Palace, or the rest ambitious but that had never put any effort to the things that they want to accomplish and lived most of their life under the assistance of the UN or Westerns as victims of the previous regimes, and didn't have nothing to show when time came around.
One of the groups will definitely have guys like Al Mariam (Alemayeh Gebremariam) of the USA that came way before the good king was disposed by their house servants and murdered.
This guy could be an exception because he did get educated, "at least in School", of course there is the other part of life or experience knowledge, that he dearly luck about the trail that our people and country went till now. I believe the leaders of the diaspora opposition don't understand the fact that a person that has a southern (Ethiopia) accent be able to represent the southern Ethiopians, unless a parliamentarian from the Grand Palace get appointed by the central government takes such a seat.
I just want to plead with the opposition leaders, that there is a lot more they can do to help the country and benefit themselves, if they stop and see how much of a clear thought they have towards the whole process.
All the people that have been away from your home country, please take time and try to do something for yourself and ask questions to authorities in different level of local and regional government, before forming opinion from the street discussions and coffee bars.
Please compare the price (real price) of doing business between Ethiopia and wherever you are living. I guarantee you will find it better and cheaper and definitely healthier there.
Most should be at awe of the sacrifice paid by the fighters and the people that were in the struggle, to create the current constitution.
Thank you
